7/2/10 Well I made it through June. What a month. Lots of changes ..... the coolest being that my daughter graduated from college. Now the payments begin (lol)
I've been lucky enough to spend the last two weekends on Lake Erie boating, swimming, and spending time at the Casino. Last weekend was a difficult weekend for me and my family and having somebody there .. taking me for a boat ride to clear my head ... really meant a lot.
Not sure what my holiday plans are but I hope everyone has a great weekend. God Bless the USA

5/31/10 Home from Ocean City, Maryland and the first race of the season for OPA . What an awesome weekend. The weather couldn't have been better and getting to see friends that I've been missing is always a great thing. I spent most of the weekend helping the safety guys. All racers that race in a canopy boat must take a dunk test every year that similates rolling over in a boat. Racers that race in an open boat have to take a swim test. I don't get in the pool. I just help with the paper work (lol) Sunday, I was able to have the 2nd best seat in the race. I flew in the front passanger seat of Angel One, a helicopter that flies over the race course as a race spotter. There were two rescue divers behind me also scanning the race course looking for incidents. Thank God the divers were never needed. Hopefully I will get the opportunity to do that again. Very cool to be involved.
and of course ... after a win ... its time to make the donuts :-)
4/9/10 Grabbed some girlie friends and headed to the Alrosa Villa. The headliners were Smile Empty Soul and Soil (love them both) but in my opinion, the band that played before they went on stole the show. These guys were awesome. Black Sunshine. I haven't been this impressed with a band in a long time. Hope for great things for these guys ....

3/5/10 A couple weeks ago some wonder person suggested we hold a Baja/Checkmate/OSO gathering here in my town. Some good friends and some new friends all gathered at the shack out back for some good food, great drinks, and cool door prizes. Some one said it was time to dance so we moved the party around the corner to the Crazy Fox ...... where the basement was a speak easy back in the day and frequent stop for Capone and Dillinger.... and where the dance floor comes equiped with a stripper pole (hehe) Pretty sure everyone had a good time. I know I did and I came home with the coolest door prize!! (Thanks Brian for the gift - I love it!)
2/21/10 Home from the east coast. Went out to Jersey for the weekend for the OPA Awards. They were held at Oyster Creek in Leeds Point, NJ again this year. LOVE that place. The people. The food. The bartenders. Its a great place to relax with friends.
1/6/10 Gave myself a present. I have a new tattoo. Its on my ankle, right around the corner from the tat for the kids.... My friend Jason has given me all my tattoos. Hes the best ;-)
1/1/10 Made it into the new year ;-) Spent the night at home with good friends, family, food .... all my favorite things
12/24/09 Christmas Eve. Home alone and happy. My house will be filled with family tomorrow but tonight I'm enjoying the quiet with my dogs. With the end of the year approaching, I've been taking some time the last few days to reflect on how blessed I am with a family who loves me, friends who include me, a job that supports me, and health. I couldn't ask for anything more. I hope you all have a joyous Christmas filled with smiles and love. God Bless....
11/ 17/09 Home from Key West. Flew into Tampa last Thursday, met up with a friend and road tripped it down. We hit Duval street at 5:15 am Friday morning ...found a place to sleep for a few hours then watched some boat racing. Friday night found us on Duval hanging out with good friends and making a few new ones. Saturday was a little more of the same ... little sleep, boats and Duval. Sunday we were back to race day. Both of my favorite teams won their classes and became World Champions. Made for a really interesting Sunday night (hehe) I was having so much .. didnt want it to end .... but it did end .... at 5:15 am .... right where it had started ;-)
Ive had many experiences in Key West ... not all of them good. Key West is the southernmost point... the end of the road. Maybe thats why a lot of things seem to end for me there... not that that is all bad. This year ... maybe.... something good may have started.... at least I hope so...... Doesnt matter tho. Either way ... come next November, Ill be in Key West

11/11/09 Leaving tomorrow for Key West. My friends have been down there for a couple days but I just couldnt swing a whole week this year. Apparently they are doing ok without me. One of my teams won their class today and the other finished second in their class ;-)
11/1/09 Well last night was Halloween. Went out with the girls to a local bar to see a local band. The band wasnt terrible ..... just reminded me how spoiled I am with my guys. Pet peeve .... a cover band should know the words to the songs they cover. I know them. So should they (lol)
My costume was a police chick. Who doesnt like an opportunity to have hand cuffs ;-)

10/24 /09 Bobaflex! There are two local bands that I claim as my own. Both share the same lead singer and I think he is amazing. He and his wife are both good people and I love to be around them. One of his bands is a cover band and the other band is all original music. Both bands are awesome. A few weeks ago, they played at the Alrosa Villa for the first time. They were the first act of five and they stole the show so the Reverand Rick (owner of the Alrosa Villa) asked them to come back and be the opening band for Bobaflex. Now ... I first saw Bobaflex at the Alrosa about 5 years ago when my cousins band played there. Both my cousins band and Bobaflex were the opening bands for Dope. In case I havent mentioned it before, Dope is my most favorite live band. Their show is tight ..... Bobalfex now ranks a close second . I was so impressed with how far these guys have come. I couldn't have been more entertained. Oh and my band did so well that Rick asked them to come back and play the New Years Eve show .... also opening for Bobaflex. I normally dont leave the house on New Years Eve, but this year, I might have to make an exception ;-)
and while we're at it .......
10/17/09 So my son got married (lol) Ok ...not my real son. A few years back, a very young guy and I flew to Key West together for the offshore world champrionships. We didnt want anybody to mistake us for a couple so I started calling him son and he started calling me mom. It kinda stuck and we've been calling each other that ever since. Im not sure Im actually old enough to be his mom ..... but its probably close..... if I had him when I was 12. Anyway, iit was one of the best weddings Ive been to. The ceremony was short, the reception was a great and the reception after the reception was a blast. Oh and the cake .... the cake was the coolest. A few months ago the bride to be asked me if I could help her find a very special topper for the wedding cake. She didnt want the typical bride and groom statues and she really wanted to surprise the groom. A very good friend of mine was going to make topper but when he ordered the "model" we decided it would work so he shipped it to me and my daughter painted it. It was a little rough and chipped a bit when I shipped it to the brides dad but he found a way to perfect it and in the end .... it was the coolest wedding cake ever ;-)
9/5/09 Went up to Toledo for a Labor Day relaxing time. Hung out with some good friends on Woodtick island. The moon was amazing. Like a big night light ... or head light (hehe) While Im not a fan of night time boating, we couldnt resist with the moon so full. Vision was not an issue .... til we ran into Michigan ;-)
Our midnight mobile ..... coolest mini van of jet boats
8/24/09 Home from Long Island ... Patchogue New York to be exact. My team didn't do as well this race. We went from second or third to last ... on the last lap ... right before the start finish line... when a fuel line came loose. Thank God there was no fire. Last is ok ... no fire.
The road trip started late Thursday night on the east side of Cleveland with a detour thru Allentown PA. We made it to Patchogue early Friday morning. I drove the first leg of the trip cuz I refused to drive through NYC. I am just not a fan of big Cities.... crowds ... traffic ... and since I wasn't driving this time, I was able to look around and snap a few pictures
8/2/09 Spent the weekend in St Clair Michigan. Didn't take many pictures .... Didn't seem to have room for my camera. I don't carry a purse and I spent the weekend with a drink in one hand and my cell phone in the other..... Speakin of drinks, two of my very good friends shared their apple pie moonshine with me. They had brough it home from North Carolina .... in mason jars ... straight out of somebodies back yard. THE BEST moonshine I have ever had.... :-)
It was a good weekend with some close friends... AND the team that I crew for won. Definitely a good weekend. Definitely.
6/28/09 Home from Lake Erie! FIIINNNNNAAALLLY went boating. Some good friends of mine host a small get together... most ly locals ... kinda like a family reunion for me this year since its the first time I've made it up to Kelleys Island. Apparently its been too long since I've been boating because I forgot how to hold on (hehe) Actually, the grab rail was a bit low for me (short arms and all) so I held onto the edge of the windshield .... left a mark .. totally self inflicted. Good thing I had alcohol later to numb the pain ;-)
It was a great time with good friends. Weather was perfect, water was perfect... so glad I was able to be there.
6/1/09 Back from Ocean City Maryland. Went out for the first OPA race for 2009. Pulled into Ocean City late Friday night, checked into our room at the Atlantic and then headed across the parking lot to my favorite bar, The Bearded Clam. Some of our friends were farther north at Seacrets, and while that is a cool place, I just wanted to hang with some close friends at the neighborhood bar, listen to some good tunes on the jukebox ..... and drink (hehe) . Its a long drive to get there and I was ready to NOT be in a car. Somewhere around closing time, we hit The Cork Bar for the best cheeseburgers in Ocean City then sat on the porch at the hotel socializing with our friends and fellow racers as they made their way in for the evening.
Saturday morning we headed for the pits to say hi to the friends we had missed the night before and start work on the boat. We didn't need to do much, just a little tweaking here and there but I did get to get my hands dirty doing a few things in the bilge and assisting with some fine tuning on the carburetor. I truly think they should make a cologne that smells like premium high octane gasoline
Sunday was race day. After we had the boat craned in, I rode with one of the wives to the boardwalk so we could watch the races. Race 1 the boats were flyin high. Nothing like ocean racing for the boats to get some big air. Race 2 brought out the bigger boats. Lap one I watched Talkin Trash runnin away from the rest of the pack ..... then the rest of the pack came back around and Talkin Trash wasn't with them any more.... then we saw the helicopter hovering along the back straight ... too far to be able to see what was going on. We grabbed the ship to shore radio and heard them calling for the medics. Wasn't long before we heard the sirens heading for the coast guard station. My friend drove me back to the pits while I called the crew chief to find out what was happening. At the point everything was sketchy ... We met up in the pits and found out that one friend was being flown to a nearby hospital and the other was being sent to a different hospital. I asked what they wanted me to do and the crew chief said help us get the boat out ....... Now ... I'm not one to panic.... but ... I must say my first views of the boat ... well .... I had to call one of my best friends so they could tell me to .. so they could say .... hmm .... well ... lets just say the boat had some damage. Both the guys are ok ... some broken bones ... some scratches .... they are both lucky lucky lucky. The boat landed upright. The outcome could have been way different. I thank God watching out for them.

5/18/09 Things have been kinda slow around here .... few times out to see some local bands and dance it up but now things are getting ready to start getting crazy again. Racing season has started ... Offshore racing season that is. Sold my Charlotte Allstar tickets and spent last weekend crewing for my good friend and his team Talkin Trash at Lake Cumberland, Kentucky. It was my first trip there. Most of the other events at Cumberland that Ive been invited to have fallen over race weekends so I havent been able to go before. Cumberland was cool as hell ... dry county tho .... so my most favoritest friend in the world brought me a bottle of Everclear, a bottle of Cabo Wabo (tequila), and a bottle of Jack Daniels. I was set for the 2 days I was there (lol)
Most of the race teams stayed on houseboats at the State Dock. Very cool deal .... hot tubs and bar seating on the upper deck and party on the dock Saturday night. I can see what the draw is in warmer weather .... the slides off the back of the houseboats were tempting even tho it was COLD (hehe) The people at Cumberland were awesome .... the facilities were cool ... and I hope we get invited back again.
3/15/09 Back from Las Vegas - what a trip. Found the absofukinlutey BEST cover band at the Carnival Bar between the Imperial Palace and Harrahs. If you have not seen the band Evenflow, go check these guys out. While the name might imply they are a Pearl Jam cover band, they are not .. altho they did do Pearl Jam wonderfully. Theses guys were amazing. Their set is picked by the audience. You write down a song choice and put it in a can at the front of the stage and the band pulls out a song and plays it ... They did everything from Outkast, to Led Zepplin, to Big and Rich, to Aerosmith, to Neil Diamond. And they did it all well. Totally entertaining. Totally worth the trip.
All in all I had a great weekend, drank, danced, caught a Criss Angel show, and oh ya ... I even won some money ;-)
3/7/09 Gearing up for a trip to Vegas. My first. Going with a girlie friend of mine .. We travel well together. She does Nascar races with me .... and .. we love to dance. First time she went to a boat race will me ... well ... it was entertaining. If we caged danced there, I wonder what we will find to do in Vegas ;-)
2/14/09 I know most are saying Happy Valentines Day today but I don't do Hallmark holidays so to me ... this is "happy day before the Daytona 500" . The Bud shootout (hate the changes there) and the Twin 125's (always take off work to watch) both just leave me wanting more. This weekend will be spent in front of the TV watchin the cars going fast and turning left. Dont really care who wins ... just can't wait to watch it unfold. You know I say I don't care but the truth is I'll be the most happy if it's Dale Jr, Tony, or Kevin ;-)
1/31/09 Well we are a month into 2009 and things are cold and snow covered around here. Friday I'll be heading to Atlantic City for the OPA awards to watch my good friends, my team, accept the award for High Points Champions. I am so proud to be associated with these guys.
1/1/09 Happy New Year!!! Hope everyone had a fun and safe New Years Eve. At my house, New Years Eve has always been about family. Watched the big stunts in Las Vegas with the kids. Robbie Madisons jump was insane
12/25/08 Merry Christmas! Hope everyone got what they wanted. My favorite gifts included tequila ... and some more tequila ;)
12/10/08 In case you haven't heard, Christmas is coming.... Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season. Guess I need to go shopping ........ ;-)
11/16/08 Ye Ha! Spent 10 days traveling heading to Key West and back. What a great time! It was so good to see my racing buddies and get to introduce myself to a few others. I didn't race this year but I did get to crew . Its an honor to be able to help in the bilge, help at the cranes, and do whatever else needs to be done... like wash the boat ;) I'm blessed to be a part of it.
10/13/08 Hello all.... Just a note to let you know I'm still alive.... still kicking. Life has been busy. Some minor changes ... such as I moved. First real move for me. I had gone from my bedroom in my parents house to my old house but that was it ... and it was 20 years ago ... so .. wow do you collect a lot of crap in 20 years (hehe) . New house is a downsize so I had to get rid of a lot of things ... including the letters from my pen pal in Africa from back in 7th grade (ha!) So anyway ... now that that's done, hopefully I can go back to updating the site regularly.
Thanks again for all the well wishes, encouragement, smiles, and conversation. I appreciate you all.
7/28/08 What a great weekend!! I received the best surprise Sunday morning when I found out I would get to go for a boat ride. Last year in Key West, we rolled the race boat and I went for a swim in Wednesdays race and then on Sundays race we collided with another boat. Those two incidents scared a lot of people. In February of this year, we had a team meeting and it was decided that I was more valuable on land, alive and unhurt, then in a race boat with the potential for danger and destruction. I accepted their decision and went back to being part of the crew. I thought I would be ok with that until last weekend we went raced in Harrison Twp. When the boat pulled away from the crane without me ..... well .... my friends husband turned and asked me if I was ok ... I wasnt. That was hard. I wanted to be out there. I like being involved. I like being hands on in the boat .... So anyway .... this week, there were no other boats racing in our class so technically it wasnt a race, it was a boat ride. ;-) I love these guys. I love that they include me. I am blessed.
Waving to anybody thats looking ......
7/24/08 Going back up to Michigan. St Clair this weekend. Last weekend we had over 30 boats racing and this weekend there will be more .... plus the Jersey skiffs are joining us. Those guys are nuts!!
7/18/08 Headin up to Michigan to the OPA races. Should be a great weekend. Hope everyone has fun ... and be safe
7/3/08 Changed the password today for the private section. I promise I wont do that often and I also promise that when I do change it, there will be something new worth seeing. Happy 4th of July ....
6/27/08 Heading up to Mt Clemens, Michigan for the weekend to help promote the Michigan races that OPA is hosting in July. Hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend ;)
6/21/08 As some of you may have heard, Dale Jr won last weekend (Wahoo!) Hope he does as well tomorrow ;) Heres a very cool shirt I picked up at his shop last month in Mooresville. Sucks that it's June and it's cold enough here in Ohio to wear it .......
6/13/08 Happy Friday the 13th! I had plans for new pics this week but my computer blew up (mother F'n board) Monday night and I just got it back today. Headin up to Lake Erie bright and early tomorrow morning. Get to go spend some time with my dear friend Jack Daniels over on the East side of Cleveland. Hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend ... whatever you might be doing ;)
5/31/08 Here we are at the end of the first month of the website. Over 7500 hits. Wow. I sincerely appreciate all the views, donations, comments and suggestions. Thanks Guys and Gals!! You keep me smiling ;)
5/30/08 Some of my friends will be racing in Ocean City, Maryland this weekend. Wish I was there but Im being responsible this weekend and staying home ... Wish everyone well.
5/18/08 Back from Charlotte.... race was good ... for a while ;) Had a great time seeing old friends and meeting a few new friends too! Found a few things I think you will like .... I'll work on new pics soon
5/14/08 Headin out to Charlotte early tomorrow morning. Packed and primed and ready to go. If you see me comin, get out of the way ... Im on a mission (hehe) I'll have limited access to a computer so I may be a bit slow in answerin emails and sendin out info. Im sure I'll find something down there to show you when I get back ;)
5/10/08 I've added a few new pages. You can access them from the "Support the Single Mom" page. The pages are private so you need to buy the name and password. I'm a little less bashful in those pages but still just a tease (hehe)
I suppose I should explain why the shots are headless. It started as a joke but I kinda enjoy havin a secret identity ... altho ... a ton of people know me. I'm not the best that you'll see but I'm far from the worst. I guess this way, I can be anybody you want me to be. In reality, my hair is blonde (but my drivers license says brown) and my eyes are hazel. I'm 5'4 and have no idea what I weigh. I'm not concerned with the number as long as my clothes fit ...
5/8/08 Holy hits Batman! Over 2200 in 2 days. You guys sure know how to make a girl feel special. I love that number. For whatever reason 22 is a big part of my life. I was married on the 22nd, started my job on the 22nd, both my kids were born on the 22nd, my car is a limited edition monte carlo, 2222 of them made, I was divorced on 12/10 (adds up to 22) and we walked out of the court room at 2:22 (hehe) Kinda cool huh .... So the tat on my hip is a 22 thats interwoven in the skin ... and now you know why ;)
Next week I'm heading to Charlotte for our annual spring time pilgrimage. I'm guessing I'll be able to find a few things for some new pics ... so updates are on the way
5/7/08 Wow! So the site hit the web late last night and there have already been over 1000 hits. You guys are amazing! Thanks for the feedback. I'll see what I can do with some of those suggestions (lol) I'm trying to figure out how to make sections accessible by password so ... maybe I can be a little less bashful (ha)
5/5/08 A little background ... I am a over 40 mother of two, divorced, and have two dogs .. well three ... but two in the house are mine and the one outside is my daughters. I'm into Nascar, offshore racing, football, hockey, driving fast, and music .
I work in a small office where I'm the manager and all us girls (all 7 of us) get along (anybody who works with females will understand why thats amazing). We work together during the day then hang out with each other at night. We all like to drink, dance and have fun with no drama.
